About Eddie

Eddie was born to a single German mother and a black American (GI) father in post-war Germany. He grew up between two worlds, at first in a small German village, speaking only German. From this world, at the age of 7, he was transplanted to a completely different world—the projects of Philadelphia. Growing up as an African American child in the 60s, Eddie moved back and forth between predominantly black environments and very integrated ones.

In Philadelphia, Eddie was introduced to the inner city, including gang life. As his father was a career Army man, Eddie’s family moved around. In addition to two periods in Philadelphia, he lived in various environments around America, finally graduating from a U.S. Department of Defense High School back in Germany. From there, he attended Texas Tech.

As a freshman at Texas Tech, he became a black radical/hippie, accepting all of the late 60s and early 70s leftist ideology. He was vice president of the Black Student Union at Texas Tech, as well as president of the charter chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity there.

It was not until he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior in El Paso, Texas, one month after his graduation, that he began to see the world in a new way and embark on a new path with a new vision.

Eddie graduated with a BBA in management and later attended Melodyland School of Theology in Anaheim, CA, in their M. Div. program. He studied under the likes of Dr. John Warwick Montgomery, Dr. J. Rodman Williams, and Walter Martin.

From 1981 to 1992, Eddie, his wife Vickie, and their four children served as missionaries with Youth With A Mission (YWAM); first in Amsterdam, Holland, doing street ministry to prostitutes and drug addicts. He then served as director of the Augsburg, Germany YWAM base, leading Discipleship Training Schools and directing a Christian book distribution center, providing Christian books and music to the U.S. military throughout Europe and the Middle East. In addition to these duties, Eddie spent extensive time in Uganda, Kenya, and South Africa, leading teams, doing relief work, and teaching for Youth With A Mission bases there.

In his service with Youth With A Mission, Eddie has spoken before thousands in Europe, Africa, and the United States.

Eddie was co-host for several years on Tulsa KFAQ’s Pat Campbell Show and currently owns the Eddie Huff Insurance Agency. He is also a public speaker and has written hundreds of articles on public policy, socio-political, as well as spiritual themes, and has written one book titled Y’All Have Sinned.

In addition, Eddie is CEO of The Joseph Project Africa and continues his work with the youth of East Africa, raising support for, advising, and building schools and orphanages in Uganda.
